Winemaker's comments:
Intense deep garnet in colour with crimson hues. Characteristic Cabernet fruit aromas of blackcurrant, mulberry leaf and red bell peppers, together with an array of spices including sage and bay leaf, deliver a powerful bouquet. A fruit driven wine with subtle vanillin oak spice and underlying earth and tobacco characters. The palate shows elegant structure, with great intensity of varietal character, the texture is plush with great fruit sweetness. Soft, delicate tannins add finesse and great length. An opulent wine with a silky texture. This wine will benefit from cellaring up to 5 - 8 years.
Background Information:

What's the Difference?:
2000 provided an outstanding vintage for Cabernet Sauvignon in Western Australia.
This 2000 vintage Moondah Brook Cabernet Sauvignon was sourced from southern Western Australian vineyards grown on laterite gravel and sandy clay soils. Malolactic fermentation followed by maturation for 18 months in a combination of 80% new, French and American, barriques provides suppleness and support to the intensely rich fruit.
Moondah Brook, gold medal winner at Brisbane 2002 Wine Show, sets the benchmark for Western Australia Cabernet under $20.
